Arctic fox, Spitsbergen, Svalbard. June 2020. The Arctic foxes have now lost most of their winter fur. At this time of year there is no food shortage, and food for both adults and puppies is continuously collected over night. In the colonies of the Common Eider, chickens and eggs are picked and are either eaten on site or buried within a short distance. An extremely stressful life for the nesting birds, which only lifts off the nest at the last second.
