Old Danish Organbuilding Syndicate (Gammel Dansk Orgelbyggersyndikat) was founded October 25th 1991 with the glorious purpose to promote and propagate the knowledge on the art of Organbuilding. It is the responsibility for every single member of Old Danish Organbuilding Syndicate always to show proper behaviour, use courteous talking and to live a trustworthy and decent life as good examples for both fellow members of Old Danish Organbuilding Syndicate as well as for plain citizens. All members of Old Danish Organbuilding Syndicate have documented a cordial and exaggerated interest in the objectives of the Syndicate and for the study of benthic freshwater invertebrates.

in Denmark runs on a full tank of Gammel Dansk..."

The Art of Organbuilding
It is one of the main purposes of Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate to build the world's largest bottle organ from Gammel Dansk bottles. After several years of scientific research on sound, quality and aesthetic expression, Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate has found that the definitely most excellent organ pipe is an empty bottle of Gammel Dansk. The Gammel Dansk pipes are available in several sizes: Gigante, Riesen Gross, Gross, Echtes Halbgross, Halbgross, Kleines, Echtes Picolo, Picolo. The wide range of pipe types and sizes optimises the basic scale of the organ, and each pipe can further be fine-tuned by leaving back certain amount of liquid. During the many years of scientific testing, Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate has found that fine-tuning with distilled water produce a slightly better accord and harmony than leaving behind the original Gammel Dansk content. It is therefore vital to ensure that all bottles are completely empty before construction and fine-tuning.
It is important that all pipes are current. To certify the harmonic quality of the organ, a pipe has to be opened, enjoyed, finished and registered with honour and respect. Therefore, all current pipes always have to be processed by the presence of at least two members or prospects of Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate. All pipes selected for the organ have been carefully tested and chosen by all members of Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate during the ordinary meetings.
Construction of the organ is controlled into details in the workshop and in the laboratory. The sound of each pipe is tested against traditional organ pipes from the Syndicate's pipe collection, and possible microscopic flaws acquired during the pipe preparation processes are detected.
Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate is travelling around the world to enjoy and spread the knowledge on the art of organ building, and to collect inspiration to alternative organ pipes. Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate is planning fieldwork and excursions to Cuba, Scotland, Ireland, France and Belgium in the hope to discover new potential bottle-pipe types.
During the field trips, the members of Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate typically find time to share their common spare-time interest in collecting and studying freshwater macroinvertebrates. The members of Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate publish their results in international scientific journals, resulting in honourable citations. At the Entomology Congress in Firenze, Italy 1996, a couple of members went to a concert in the Santa Croce Church. The church organ is among the worlds most impressive and is build of almost 7,000 pipes and has 95 different registers. It is the intension of Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate to build an organ at least as impressive and large as the Santa Croce organ in Firenze. Old Danish Organ Building Syndicate has started processing the pipes.
