In June 2020 I visited Svalbard with my two photo mates, Leif Bolding and Per Svensson. The main subject was the arctic fox and you can find those pictures here. Below you will find some selected pictures from the nature and surroundings of Longyearbyen. In addition to foxes, the trip also included reindeer, Beluga (white) whales, birds, flowers and the experience of a mining culture, which is now replaced by tourism. The number of snowmobiles may reflect a worrying pressure on the Arctic. Fortunately, however, the visiting polar bears limit the reach of tourists a bit.
